In line with Government recommendations the Practice provides 48-hour access to a doctor.

Most surgeries operate from 08:40 to 10:50 in a morning and 14:30 to 17:00 in an afternoon.

If you ring in on the day you want to see a doctor, you will be offered a same day appointment with one of the available GPs or you may be asked to come to one of the first available appointments instead.

There are a number of appointments that are available for forward booking. Please ask the receptionist team for further details.

Nurse, Healthcare Assistant and GP appointments can be pre-booked up to a month in advance.

Extended Hours appointments

The surgery offers two late evening GP clinics every week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 6.30 pm and 8.00pm (by appointment).

Extended Access Appointments

These are available via our Hub at Avenue House Surgery.  Late evening appointments are available Monday to Friday until 8.00 pm and weekend appointments are available on Saturday and Sunday morning.

Consent must be given to share information with the clinician during your consultation and to share information back to your registered practice.

Please ask the receptionist for more details when you book.

Online Services

If you would like to use SystmOnline then please enquire at the surgery in order to obtain your username and password. We require 2 forms of ID of which one must be photo ID (e.g. passport, driving licence) and the other form of ID needs to have your address (e.g. utility bill, council tax bill, bank statement). You will also be require to sign a disclaimer at the time of application.  This will then allow you to access our online services and you will be able to make prescription requests and book GP appointments.

Telephone Advice

The doctors are usually available to take calls from 11:45 till 12.30, Monday to Friday, please ring or pop into the surgery to arrange one. If you require the advice of the practice nurse team then please contact the surgery and a member of the reception team will be more than happy to pass a message through.

It would be helpful if patients telephoning regarding routine or non-urgent matters could try and avoid our busiest times between 08:00 and 11:00.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
